Green on green. (Remember this skirt?) This date night ensemble is what I wore when Teddy and I went to Cirque Du Soleil ‘Kurios’ on Friday. I’ve always had an affinity with elephants. I rode one when I was girl in Pakistan and have loved them ever since. Since then, every visit to the zoo included a little me standing much too long in front of the elephant exhibit while my party yearned to move forward. A few years ago I read ‘Water for Elephants‘ by Sara Gruen and my outlook on zoo animals completely changed. Elephants are one of many animals that are abused in traveling circuses, and I refuse to pay money and support their torture. Even though Cirque is costly, I would much rather pay more to support artists who are capable of making their own decisions and participate in this type of entertainment, then captured animals who are whipped into behaving. These animals are intelligent, far more than you can imagine. If you ever wanted a different perspective of the circus, I highly recommend ‘Water for Elephants.’ I think there is even a Reese Witherspoon movie – although I haven’t checked it out myself.
